Christmas Eve – thursday 24th December
Arrive from 4pm and begin your festive escape in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.
Step inside The Green Dragon and feel the warmth of Christmas with a glass of mulled wine on arrival, served beside the glow of the fire — the perfect start to your seasonal retreat.
Once settled, join us in the restaurant for a delicious two-course dinner, thoughtfully prepared by our chefs using the finest local ingredients.
Unwind, dine, and soak in the cosy, rustic atmosphere as anticipation for Christmas builds.
Later in the evening, guests who wish to do so may take a short trip to St Margaret’s Church in Hawes to attend Midnight Mass — a peaceful and traditional way to welcome Christmas Day. Alternatively, relax by the fire with a nightcap and enjoy the tranquil charm of the inn as Christmas Eve draws to a close.
Christmas Day – friday 25th December
Awaken on Christmas morning to the comforting aroma of a full English breakfast, served between 8:00am and 9:30am. Spend the morning entirely at your leisure — perhaps take a winter stroll through the Dales or simply relax and enjoy the comfort of your surroundings.
At 1:00pm, the festivities begin with a glass of Prosecco or a festive mocktail on arrival, followed by a sumptuous three-course Christmas Day lunch (menu to be confirmed). Expect traditional seasonal dishes, fine festive flavours, and a joyful atmosphere throughout.
As evening falls, join us in the hall for a relaxed cold buffet, accompanied by a Christmas quiz, light-hearted games, and background music — the perfect way to round off a magical Christmas Day. The bar will be open to the public from 12:00–3:00pm, before becoming exclusive to residents in the evening.
Boxing Day – saturday 26th December
Enjoy a leisurely Boxing Day breakfast before bidding farewell. Take one last moment to breathe in the crisp Dales air and reflect on a truly memorable Christmas at The Green Dragon, Hardraw.
